Kanpur: District Magistrate Mahendra Singh Tanwar conducts surprise inspection of Ursula and Dufferin hospitals

With the aim of improving healthcare services in Kanpur, District Magistrate Mahendra Singh Tanwar conducted a surprise inspection of Ursula and Dufferin hospitals on Tuesday. During the visit, he assessed the arrangements within the hospital premises and inquired about the facilities being provided to the patients. His primary focus was to ensure that patients do not face any inconvenience while seeking treatment.

During the inspection, the District Magistrate visited various wards of the hospital. He met with the admitted patients and sought feedback regarding their health and the treatment they were receiving. Patients informed the District Magistrate about some of their problems, to which he issued immediate instructions to the concerned officials for resolution.

According to the report by Amar Ujala, the District Magistrate gave clear instructions to the hospital administration that any negligence in healthcare services would not be tolerated. He stated that it must be ensured that patients receive timely medicines and proper medical consultation. He also emphasized paying special attention to cleanliness and other basic amenities within the hospital.

This visit by the District Magistrate is being viewed as a warning to the health department officials. He also checked the hospital records and the availability of medicines. He emphasized that the main objective of government hospitals is to provide better treatment to poor and needy patients, and there should be no shortage in this regard.

The District Magistrate also directed the doctors and staff of the hospital to behave politely with patients and resolve their issues on a priority basis. He stated that the system needs to be further strengthened so that patients do not have to wander around for treatment.

Following this inspection, the hospital administration has assured improvements in the arrangements. The District Magistrate stated that he would continue such inspections in the future to ensure that the quality of healthcare services is maintained.
