Tenant couple accused of theft in Kanpur, cash and jewelry stolen using duplicate key

A case of theft has been reported from a landlord's house in the Naubasta area of Kanpur. It is alleged that a tenant couple used a duplicate key to steal 1.20 lakh rupees in cash and other valuables from a cupboard. Police have registered a complaint and initiated an investigation, although both suspects were released after initial questioning.

A shocking incident of theft has come to light in the Rajiv Nagar Machariya area under the Naubasta police station limits in Kanpur. A landlord has leveled serious allegations of theft against a couple living as tenants in his house. The victim claims that the couple entered the house in his absence and stole valuables after opening the cupboard lock.

According to the information received, 1.20 lakh rupees in cash and other precious jewelry kept in the house were found missing. The landlord suspects that the tenants had prepared a duplicate key for the main cupboard, which they used to carry out the theft with ease. Following the incident, there was a stir in the area, and the landlord immediately informed the police.

Upon receiving the information, the local police reached the spot and began an investigation. The police took the suspect couple into custody and questioned them thoroughly. However, during the initial interrogation, the accused flatly denied the theft, and no clues were found. The police stated that they currently lack concrete evidence against the accused.

According to police officials, the accused did not confess to any crime during the questioning. Due to the lack of sufficient evidence, the police have released both individuals for now. This incident has raised concerns among landlords regarding security, especially concerning the verification of tenants and the safety of keys.

Police stated that the investigation into the matter is still ongoing. If any new evidence or information emerges during the probe, further legal action will be taken. Currently, the police are also questioning people in the vicinity to uncover the truth behind the incident.

This incident highlights the importance of key management for home security. Landlords are advised to properly verify tenants before renting out their properties and to remain vigilant regarding security measures.

For now, the victim's family is awaiting further action from the police in hopes of justice. The police have assured that all aspects of the case will be investigated thoroughly to ensure that the culprits are not spared.
