Kanpur: Case registered against youth for misappropriating 24.20 lakh rupees in the name of business

A serious case of fraud has emerged in Kanpur, where a youth allegedly swindled lakhs of rupees under the guise of starting a business. A resident of the Naubasta police station area has alleged that he was cheated out of 24.20 lakh rupees after being promised a business venture.

According to a report by Amar Ujala, the victim, Akash Singh, a resident of Naughada, stated in his police complaint that he had domestic relations with the accused, Gaurav Srivastava, a resident of Gopalnagar. Exploiting this trust, Gaurav had taken a large sum of money from him in the name of business investment.

The complainant alleges that Gaurav took 24.20 lakh rupees from him under the pretext of investing in a business. Even after a significant amount of time had passed, neither was the business started, nor did Gaurav return the money. When Akash demanded his funds back, the accused began making excuses.

The victim stated that the accused betrayed his trust. Due to their domestic relations, he had faith in Gaurav, but the accused broke that trust and committed fraud. Eventually, seeing no other option, Akash decided to file a complaint with the police.

Based on the victim's complaint, the police have registered a case. Officials stated that given the seriousness of the matter, an investigation has been initiated. The police are searching for the accused, Gaurav Srivastava, and he will soon be summoned for questioning.
