A preventive healthcare and consultation camp was recently organized at the National Media Centre in New Delhi. The event was held under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign, which aims to improve the health of employees and sanitation workers in government offices. The initiative sought to raise awareness about health and hygiene within the workplace environment.

The camp was organized by the Press Information Bureau (PIB). Sanitation workers and other staff members participated in the health screenings. During the event, they had the opportunity to receive medical advice from experts. The program was specifically designed for those who play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness of the office premises.

A team of doctors from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in New Delhi was invited to conduct the health assessments. The medical experts evaluated the health of the participants and provided necessary medical guidance.

This camp is part of the 'Safai Mitra Suraksha evam Samman Shivir' component. The primary objective of this component is to ensure the welfare and dignity of sanitation workers. Providing better health facilities through preventive screenings remains a priority for this campaign.

The 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign is being jointly conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. The nationwide campaign aims to encourage collective participation in cleanliness and strengthen the spirit of a clean India.

According to the PIB, this event is a step toward creating a healthy and conducive work environment. The office believes that it is the institution's responsibility to care for the well-being and dignity of those who contribute to maintaining the cleanliness of the premises.

Through such health camps, employees are encouraged to remain conscious of their health. By promoting preventive healthcare, the initiative aims to reduce future health issues. This effort also serves as a way to express respect for sanitation workers.
