VIMARSHNAARAD TVThe Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, through the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI), is set to organize a special exhibition event in Hyderabad on October 6, 2026. This event is part of 'Sudhar Utsav 2026', aimed at making the cotton procurement system more farmer-centric, transparent, and technology-driven. Government officials, policymakers, and industry stakeholders will participate in the event.
Over the past few years, CCI has implemented several institutional reforms, including digital slot booking, direct payments, and quality assessment. These initiatives aim to simplify business processes and provide better services to farmers. A short film demonstrating the impact of these reforms will also be screened during the event.
In addition to cotton, the Central Silk Board will showcase its digital reforms. The digitization of Silk Mark services has significantly benefited MSMEs and stakeholders in the silk sector. Through the 'Mera Resham Mera Abhiman' campaign, new technologies are being provided to farmers across 218 districts.
Efforts are also underway to integrate silk production with tourism and education through 'Seri-Tourism'. Special centers in Jammu and Kashmir and Assam are being developed as Seri-Tourism hubs. These efforts are aimed at transforming India's silk heritage into an experiential asset.
This event will serve as a bridge between policy interventions and ground-level results. The government aims to build an integrated value chain from farm to fashion. Through these reforms, efforts are being made to make India's cotton and silk economy more competitive on the global stage.
