According to reports from Amar Ujala, a group of 12 devotees had traveled from Gudiya Bagh in the Delhi Gate area to perform the immersion ceremony.
During the ritual, 24-year-old Vinay accidentally entered deep water and began to drown. Seeing him in distress, another youth named Rishabh jumped into the canal in an attempt to save him. However, the current was extremely strong, causing Rishabh to also struggle and begin drowning.
Local residents present at the scene acted quickly and managed to pull Rishabh to safety, saving his life. Unfortunately, Vinay was swept away by the strong current, and his whereabouts remained unknown. Authorities were immediately notified of the situation.
Upon receiving the information, the administration dispatched an SDRF team to the site to conduct rescue operations. The team is currently searching the canal for the missing youth. As of the time of reporting, Vinay had not yet been located.
