Former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma has been appointed as the Governor of Andaman and Nicobar. Born on January 12, 1964, in Lucknow, Dr. Sharma has been entrusted with this new responsibility based on his extensive administrative and political experience.

According to NDTV India, Dr. Dinesh Sharma served as the Deputy Chief Minister in the Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh from 2017 to 2022. During this tenure, he was responsible for overseeing several key departments in the state.

Throughout his term, Dr. Sharma managed significant portfolios, including Higher Education, Technical Education, Science and Technology, and Information Technology. His contributions to these sectors were widely noted during his time in office.
