Heavy rain and flood alert in Uttar Pradesh until September 6; districts instructed to remain vigilant

The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain and floods in Uttar Pradesh from September 1 to 6. All districts in the state have been placed on alert. Waterlogging on roads has been reported in areas including Lucknow, affecting daily life. The administration has advised citizens to exercise caution.

The crisis of rain and flooding is deepening in Uttar Pradesh due to the active monsoon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall for the state from September 1 to 6. Following this warning, the state government has instructed all District Magistrates to remain vigilant and monitor the situation closely.

According to an Amar Ujala report, continuous rain in several parts of the state has disrupted daily life. The situation is particularly challenging in the capital, Lucknow, where heavy rainfall has turned roads into rivers. Traffic has been obstructed due to waterlogging, and people are facing significant difficulties in commuting.

The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in various districts of the state over the next few days. Consequently, the risk of flooding in low-lying areas has increased. The administration has advised residents living near riverbanks to move to safer locations, and relief and rescue teams have been instructed to remain prepared.

Alerts have been issued across various districts of the state to ensure that any emergency situation can be handled in a timely manner. Local administrations have been directed to keep pumps and other necessary equipment ready to drain water from waterlogged areas.

There are also concerns regarding potential damage to crops due to the rain. Officials from the Agriculture Department are currently assessing the situation. The public has been urged to avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather and to stay away from electric poles or dilapidated buildings.

According to the Meteorological Department, the intensity of the rain may increase further in the coming days. The government has fully activated the Disaster Management Department to ensure that immediate assistance can be provided to flood-affected areas. The situation is being monitored continuously, and updates are being issued periodically.
