Assault on tout at Kanpur RTO over allegations of money extortion and failure to transfer bike

A dispute took a violent turn at the Kanpur RTO office on Tuesday. According to a report by Amar Ujala, an applicant and his sister cornered a tout on the office premises and assaulted him. The incident remained a topic of discussion for quite some time.

The victim alleges that he had paid five thousand rupees to the tout about six months ago for the transfer of his bike. The young man claims that even after such a long time, the tout neither processed the bike transfer nor returned his documents.

When the young man arrived at the RTO office with his sister on Tuesday, he demanded the return of his money and documents from the tout. This led to a heated argument between the two parties. The situation escalated to the point where the man and his sister began assaulting the tout.

Following the incident, there was chaos on the RTO premises. Others present at the scene attempted to calm the situation. Serious allegations of extortion and negligence have been leveled against the tout, raising questions about the office's operational procedures.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the local police began an investigation. The police stated that statements from both parties are being recorded. Further legal action will be taken based on the complaint received against the tout.
