Strict measures to curb fraud at Kanpur RTO: Mobile number verification now mandatory
The Kanpur Transport Department has tightened the mobile number verification process to bring transparency and curb fraud in RTO services. Now, it will not be possible to use someone else's SIM card for any online application related to vehicles. This step has been taken to make vehicle buying, selling, and other RTO services more secure.
VIMARSHNAARAD TVThe Transport Department has changed the rules for citizens availing RTO services in Kanpur. According to the Amar Ujala report, the department has made the mobile number verification system stricter to prevent fraud in online services.
Now, while applying for vehicle buying, selling, or other RTO-related tasks, the applicant must verify their own mobile number. Using another person's SIM card or number to apply will not be permitted. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing incidents of fraud.
The Transport Department believes that this new system will bring transparency to RTO services. It has often been observed that people try to misuse government services by using incorrect numbers, causing trouble for genuine vehicle owners.
This rule will apply to all those using RTO's online services. The department has clarified that applications will not be accepted without the verification process. This will not only ensure data security but also keep government records more accurate.
According to officials, this step has been taken to protect the interests of vehicle owners. Now, matching the mobile number for vehicle transfers or other documents will be mandatory. This will prevent applications made by unauthorized individuals.
The Kanpur RTO office has appealed to people to use only the mobile number linked to their Aadhaar card to avoid any inconvenience in the future. This initiative by the department is a significant step towards making digital services more reliable.
In the coming time, this system is expected to become even more effective. Vehicle owners have been advised to keep their mobile numbers updated in RTO records so that they can receive notifications on time and avail of services without any interruptions.
