Major theft of seven lakhs at retired gun factory worker's home in Kanpur's Barra area
Thieves targeted the home of a retired gun factory employee in Kanpur's Barra area while the family was away. The burglars stole cash and valuables worth approximately seven lakhs. Upon discovering the theft, the family alerted the police, who are now investigating the incident using CCTV footage that captured a suspicious individual.

Burglars targeted the residence of a retired gun factory employee, making off with valuables worth lakhs. The house was completely locked at the time of the incident, which the perpetrators exploited to carry out the crime.
The elderly victim was away from home with his family. They had traveled to Lucknow to visit his eldest daughter, who serves as an Assistant Director in the Silk Department. Taking advantage of the empty house, the thieves broke the main door lock, entered the premises, and ransacked the cupboards.
According to reports from Amar Ujala, the thieves stole 20,000 rupees in cash along with other precious items. The total value of the stolen property is estimated to be around seven lakh rupees. Upon returning home, the family discovered the theft and immediately notified the police.
Upon receiving the information, local police and a forensic team arrived at the scene. The police began scanning CCTV footage from cameras installed around the house. A suspicious individual was spotted in the footage, and the police are using this lead to advance their investigation.
Police officials stated that efforts are underway to identify the suspect. Neighbors are also being questioned to gather clues related to the incident. The police have assured that the perpetrators will be apprehended soon.
