Kanpur: MP expresses anger over poor condition of Panki Padav bridge, issues strict warning to engineer
MP Ramesh Awasthi has expressed his displeasure over the poor condition of the Panki Padav bridge in Kanpur. According to an Amar Ujala report, the MP, who visited the bridge for an inspection on Thursday, summoned the PWD engineer after noticing potholes on the road. He reprimanded the engineer, directing him to repair the road immediately and ensure it is in excellent condition, while warning of serious consequences for any negligence.

During the visit, he expressed strong displeasure upon seeing deep potholes scattered across the bridge's road.
The MP immediately summoned the concerned Public Works Department (PWD) engineer to the site. He questioned the engineer regarding the dilapidated state of the bridge and reprimanded him for the negligence shown in maintenance. The MP stated clearly that no compromise would be made regarding public convenience.
Ramesh Awasthi directed the engineer to repair the Panki Padav bridge road as soon as possible. He emphasized that the road must be made smooth and in excellent condition so that commuters do not face any difficulties while traveling.
Issuing a warning, the MP stated that if the repair work is not completed in a time-bound manner, the concerned officials will have to face serious consequences. He has instructed them to pay special attention to the quality and pace of the work.
The Panki Padav bridge is a vital route in the city, used by thousands of people daily. Due to the poor condition of the road, there is a constant risk of accidents. Local residents had also been demanding a solution to this problem for a long time.
Following the MP's firm stance, pressure has mounted on the PWD department to complete the work promptly. It is expected that the administration will now take swift action in this matter.
