Kanpur: Three arrested for alleged smuggling of banned meat; commotion reported at Juhi police station

Police in Kanpur have arrested three individuals for the alleged smuggling of banned meat in the Juhi area. The suspects, identified as Arbaz Qureshi, Mohammad Tauheed alias Aman, and Kaleem, were intercepted while transporting the meat on a motorcycle. The police action led to a significant commotion at the Juhi police station, following which the accused were sent to jail.

A case involving the alleged smuggling of banned meat has surfaced in the Juhi police station area of Kanpur. Authorities have successfully apprehended three individuals in connection with this illegal activity.

The suspects have been identified as Arbaz Qureshi, Mohammad Tauheed alias Aman, and Kaleem. According to police records, Arbaz Qureshi is a resident of Hiramanpurwa in Beconganj, while Mohammad Tauheed alias Aman hails from Khalwa on Bajariya Nala Road. The third individual, Kaleem, is a resident of the Machhariya area.

The trio was intercepted by police while they were transporting the banned meat on a motorcycle. Acting on intelligence regarding the illegal transport, officers conducted a strategic operation to stop the suspects.

Following their arrest, the individuals were brought to the Juhi police station for questioning. Reports indicate that the situation at the police station became tense, with a significant commotion erupting as the news of the arrests spread.

Despite the unrest and the protest that occurred at the station, the police maintained order and proceeded with the necessary legal formalities. On Wednesday, the three accused were presented before a magistrate and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.

Law enforcement officials have described this as a firm step against the illegal trade of banned meat. An investigation is currently underway to determine the source of the meat and its intended destination.

Police are maintaining strict vigilance to curb the illegal meat trade in the region. Following this incident, security and monitoring have been intensified in the area to prevent any further illicit activities.
