Major theft at bakery owner's home in Kanpur, incident occurred just 150 meters from police station

A major theft has occurred in Kanpur, raising serious concerns regarding local security measures. Burglars targeted the home of bakery owner Vikas Gupta in the Dhankutti area. Notably, the residence is situated just 150 meters away from the Collectorganj police station.

The perpetrators managed to enter the house by breaking the latches of the main doors. Once inside, they successfully made off with valuable items. Upon discovering the burglary, the affected family immediately alerted the police.

According to police reports, the thieves stole 50,000 rupees in cash. Additionally, gold and silver jewelry valued at approximately eight lakh rupees were also taken. The total estimated value of the stolen property is 8.50 lakh rupees.

The proximity of the crime scene to the police station has sparked significant outrage among local residents. Many have questioned the effectiveness of police patrols, noting that a theft could occur so close to a law enforcement facility.

As reported by Amar Ujala, the police have registered a complaint and initiated an investigation. Forensic teams and a dog squad are being utilized at the scene to gather potential clues.

Authorities are currently reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify the suspects. Surveillance of suspicious individuals in the area has also been increased.

The bakery owner's family is deeply distressed by the incident. The police have assured the victims that they are working to apprehend the thieves and recover the stolen valuables.
