On Sunday morning, the Vande Bharat Express, en route from Delhi to Varanasi, was targeted by miscreants. After passing Kanpur Central Station, unidentified individuals threw stones at the train near Chandari station. The attack caused a coach window to crack, causing panic among the passengers.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the railway administration and security agencies became active. Footage from the CCTV cameras installed inside the train was examined, which led to the successful identification of the person who threw the stones. According to the Amar Ujala report, the incident occurred in the morning while the train was moving at its scheduled speed.

Taking the matter seriously, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has initiated an investigation. Legal action is being processed against the accused based on the CCTV footage. Such incidents not only damage public property but also pose a serious threat to passenger safety.

After the incident, the train was cleared to proceed safely to its destination. Railway officials stated that there were no reports of any passengers being injured due to the stone-pelting, but the damage to the coach window has raised questions about safety standards.

This is not the first time such an incident of stone-pelting on premium trains like Vande Bharat has occurred in the areas around Kanpur. Similar reports have surfaced in the past, after which the railways decided to increase surveillance in sensitive areas.

Local police and the Railway Protection Force are now jointly investigating the matter to prevent such incidents in the future. Following the identification of the accused, efforts to arrest him have been intensified.

To ensure passenger safety, the railway administration has instructed all relevant departments to remain vigilant. This incident has once again highlighted the need for train security and the importance of spreading awareness among people living along the railway tracks.
