Road accident in Kanpur: Dumper hits bike, one dead and one critically injured

A horrific road accident in the Maharajpur police station area of Kanpur on Thursday afternoon has left two families devastated. A speeding dumper truck struck two men riding a motorcycle near the Kulgaon turn. The impact was so severe that both riders were thrown onto the road and sustained critical injuries.

According to a report by Amar Ujala, 27-year-old Raj, alias Harimohan, a resident of Pipri Bambi Narwal, died on the spot. Meanwhile, 25-year-old Badal, a resident of Bhadba in Fatehpur, was critically injured and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.

The deceased, Raj, and the injured, Badal, were brothers-in-law. They were traveling on their motorcycle for some work when the tragic incident occurred. Upon receiving information about the accident, local police arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.

Eyewitnesses reported that the dumper was traveling at a high speed and the driver hit the motorcycle due to reckless driving. After the collision, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. The police have seized the dumper and have launched a search for the driver.

The family of the deceased is in a state of deep shock and grief. A somber atmosphere prevails in the entire village. The police have registered a case, and further legal action is underway.

This area is considered sensitive in terms of road safety, with accidents frequently occurring due to speeding vehicles. Local residents have demanded that the administration strictly enforce traffic rules and control speed limits on this route.
