Raids at Kanpur Central Railway Station: 480 unauthorized water bottles seized, three vendors apprehended

Railway officials conducted surprise inspections at Kanpur Central Railway Station on Thursday, targeting pantry cars, train side vending, and catering stalls. During the operation, 480 unauthorized water bottles were seized, and three vendors were apprehended. The railway administration stated that this action was taken to ensure passenger safety and the quality of services provided at the station.

The railway administration carried out a significant operation at Kanpur Central Railway Station on Thursday. A surprise inspection drive was launched with the objective of improving catering services and ensuring the availability of pure drinking water for passengers. During the drive, several stalls and trains were inspected.

During the inspection, officials examined pantry cars, train side vending (TSV) units, and various catering stalls. A large quantity of unauthorized water bottles was recovered during the process. A total of 480 bottles that did not meet the required standards were seized.

Three vendors were also apprehended during this operation. These vendors are accused of selling unauthorized goods and violating established regulations. Railway officials stated that there would be no compromise regarding the health and safety of passengers.

The railway administration emphasized that the quality of food and beverages sold at the station is being monitored regularly. The primary objective of such raids is to provide passengers with safe and standardized services.

Action is being taken against the apprehended vendors in accordance with the rules. The railways have clarified that such surprise inspections will continue in the future to ensure that no irregularities occur within the station premises.

Passengers have also been urged to purchase water and other food items only from authorized stalls. This action by the railways has caused concern among those involved in illegal vending at the station.
