CM Yogi meets flood victims in Chitrakoot, promises government support and announces PM Awas houses
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Chitrakoot on Sunday to assess the flood-affected regions. After conducting an aerial survey of the devastation caused by the Mandakini river, he visited Ramghat to interact with traders and locals. The Chief Minister assured the victims of government support and announced that those affected would be provided homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

To evaluate the damage caused by the rising water levels of the Mandakini river, the Chief Minister first conducted an aerial survey. Following this, he reached Ramghat, where he met with traders and citizens impacted by the flooding.
According to the Amar Ujala report, the Chief Minister assured the people that the government stands firmly with them during this difficult time. He emphasized that disaster victims would not be left alone and that all possible assistance would be provided to them.
During the visit, the Chief Minister made a significant announcement for the affected families. He stated that those whose homes were damaged by the floods would be provided with permanent houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This step is considered a crucial effort toward the rehabilitation of the victims.
In Chitrakoot, the overflow of the Mandakini river has significantly impacted daily life. Traders at Ramghat apprised the Chief Minister of their grievances. The CM instructed officials to conduct an accurate assessment of the losses to ensure that no victim is deprived of aid.
The Chief Minister has directed the local administration to accelerate relief and rescue operations. He noted that there is a risk of disease outbreaks following floods, and therefore, the health department must remain vigilant.
While interacting with the flood victims, Yogi Adityanath stated that the government's priority is the safety of every citizen and the compensation for their losses. He instructed officials to ensure the supply of electricity, water, and food in the affected areas.
During his visit to Chitrakoot, the Chief Minister also reviewed disaster management preparations. He mentioned that a more effective mechanism would be developed to deal with such disasters in the future.
Finally, the Chief Minister appealed to everyone to maintain patience and stated that the administration is working day and night to normalize the situation as quickly as possible.
