CM Yogi orders removal of encroachments in Mandakini catchment area after reviewing flood damage in Chitrakoot

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently visited Chitrakoot to inspect the damage caused by heavy rainfall. Upon returning to Lucknow, he convened a high-level review meeting to discuss the situation and directed officials to conduct a swift assessment of the losses incurred by the public.

The Chief Minister emphasized that all possible assistance should be provided to affected traders, monasteries, and temples. He instructed the administration to expedite the process of distributing government aid to ensure that normal life is restored as quickly as possible.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister specifically addressed the issue of the Mandakini river catchment area. He ordered officials to immediately remove all encroachments from this region. This directive is aimed at mitigating the impact of waterlogging and flooding in the future.

According to reports from Amar Ujala, the Chief Minister has instructed officials to remain vigilant regarding disaster management. He stated that any illegal construction within the river's flow path will not be tolerated.

The administration has begun working on complying with the Chief Minister's directives. Local officials have been tasked with visiting the affected areas to prepare a detailed report on the damages.

Special teams are being formed to assess the losses suffered by religious institutions and business establishments. The government aims to provide relief funds and other necessary support to the victims promptly.
