Railway initiates preparations for festive season, Tatkal quota to increase in trains bound for UP

With the upcoming festive season approaching, Indian Railways has geared up to manage the influx of passengers heading toward Uttar Pradesh. During major festivals such as Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath Puja, a large number of people travel from metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai to their home state, often making it difficult to secure confirmed train tickets.

According to a report by Amar Ujala Network, the railway administration has initiated special preparations to manage this surge and provide relief to travelers. The authorities are currently identifying trains that experience the highest passenger demand during this period.

As part of this initiative, the Railways has decided to increase the number of seats under the Tatkal quota in selected trains. This measure is expected to significantly assist passengers who plan their journeys at the last minute or those who are unable to secure tickets under the general quota.

Officials believe that increasing the Tatkal quota will also help curb the black marketing of tickets, thereby increasing the chances for genuine passengers to obtain confirmed seats. The Railways has advised travelers to plan their trips in advance and book tickets only through official websites or mobile applications.

Furthermore, the administration is considering the operation of additional trains and the attachment of extra coaches to accommodate the festive rush. The primary objective is to ensure that passengers traveling to Uttar Pradesh do not face unnecessary hardships during their journey.
