PM Modi appeals to Putin to end Ukraine war, will it have any impact on Russia?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently expressed his concerns regarding the Ukraine war during his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to a BBC Hindi report, the Prime Minister has called for an end to the war while making a public appeal for peace.

Following this development, there is intense discussion in diplomatic circles about why the Prime Minister made this appeal publicly. BBC correspondents based in Delhi and Moscow have taken a deep look at the situation.

Experts believe that this initiative by India reflects its commitment to global peace. However, questions are also being raised about whether Russia will make any changes to its military strategy following this appeal.

The report states that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has created economic and political challenges at the global level. India's stance has always been to find a solution through dialogue and diplomacy.

BBC correspondents have investigated whether Putin will take this appeal seriously. International politics experts suggest that Russia's own security interests and strategic goals are the main reasons behind this war.

It will be important to see what the outcome of this diplomatic initiative by India will be in the coming time. Whether this will prove to be a concrete step towards a ceasefire is not yet clear.

Currently, the international community is watching to see what impact India's mediation or appeal has on the tense situation between Russia and Ukraine.
