The eighth phase of the e-auction for mementos received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been extended. The Ministry of Culture has set the new deadline for this auction process as October 31, 2026. The initiative aims to bring unique gifts presented to the Prime Minister to a public platform.
This edition of the auction includes 30 special items representing various facets of Delhi. The collection features artifacts, items of religious significance, handicrafts, and institutional memorabilia. All funds generated from the auction will be dedicated to the efforts of the Namami Gange project.
The collection comprises nine photo frames, nine mementos, six statues, and various crafts. Additionally, two models of the Delhi Metro, a sports memento, and a painting are part of the auction. Reflecting religious traditions, four items depict scenes related to Lord Ram and the Ramayana.
The eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism, known as Ashtamangala, are also included in this collection. These symbols are considered highly significant from a spiritual perspective. Furthermore, artwork featuring St. Stephen's College and textile art depicting the new Parliament building showcase Delhi's institutional heritage.
As a symbol of public life and achievement, a pencil sketch of the Prime Minister created by a student from Rohini is also included. Moreover, the discus belonging to Paralympic medalist Yogesh Kathuniya and the NCC's Param Veer Mati Kalash are available for bidding.
This auction not only encapsulates stories from Delhi but also serves a broader social purpose. Interested participants can visit the official portal at pmmementos.gov.in to view the detailed list of items and participate in the bidding process.
