Prime Minister Modi and Iranian President hold significant meeting during BRICS Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian during the BRICS Summit in New Delhi. This was the second meeting between the two leaders within two weeks. During the discussion, the Prime Minister appreciated Iran's active participation in BRICS and emphasized the importance of peace and diplomacy in West Asia.

A significant meeting took place between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, during the BRICS Summit held in New Delhi. This meeting marks another step towards strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. It is noteworthy that the two leaders had previously met on August 31 during the SCO Summit in Bishkek.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to President Pezeshkian for Iran's regular and high-level participation in BRICS-related meetings. He stated that Iran's cooperation, despite challenging circumstances, is commendable. The Prime Minister also highlighted the role of BRICS in promoting cooperation, innovation, and stability among 'Global South' countries.

Both leaders also held detailed discussions on the current situation in West Asia. Prime Minister Modi reiterated India's stance that all disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy to maintain peace and stability in the region. He also emphasized the need to ensure the freedom of maritime trade and the safety of seafarers.

The Prime Minister thanked President Pezeshkian for his presence at the 'Leaders Session' of the BRICS Business Forum. He appreciated the continuous cooperation between the two countries on multilateral platforms.

This meeting was organized with the aim of further deepening the bilateral relations between India and Iran. Both sides shared their views on various issues of mutual interest.

This high-level dialogue has made it clear that India and Iran are committed to working together on international platforms. According to the release issued by the Prime Minister's Office, this dialogue provides a positive foundation for future cooperation between the two nations.
