Nitin Gadkari stuck in Mumbai traffic, proposes modern multilevel solutions to improve urban mobility

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari faced severe traffic congestion in Mumbai, causing a delay in his arrival at an event. Following this experience, he proposed new technological solutions to address rising urban traffic. Gadkari emphasized adopting modern multilevel systems, including stacked flyovers and metro lines on single pillars, to streamline city transportation and reduce commute times.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently encountered heavy traffic congestion on the roads of Mumbai. Due to this delay, he arrived at a scheduled event nearly an hour behind the expected time. Upon reaching the venue, he apologized to the attendees for the inconvenience caused by the situation.

During the event, Gadkari discussed the challenges of urban traffic in detail. He noted that the increasing number of vehicles in cities is rendering existing infrastructure insufficient. He stressed the need to move away from traditional flyover designs and adopt newer, more efficient technologies.

The Union Minister suggested implementing a multilevel flyover system. He believes that such an arrangement would allow for a higher volume of vehicle movement within limited space. He shared a vision of constructing flyovers with multiple levels supported by a single pillar.

A significant component of this proposal involves integrating metro systems. Gadkari suggested that the same pillars could be utilized to run metro rail lines above the road level. This approach would provide simultaneous support for both road traffic and public transport.

According to him, such modern engineering techniques would not only mitigate traffic jams but also provide a new direction for urban development. He advocated for major structural changes to meet future infrastructure requirements.

Gadkari's suggestion is likely to spark a conversation regarding urban planning and traffic management. He clarified that in densely populated cities, there is an urgent need for innovation rather than relying on conventional methods.

Finally, he emphasized that the government and relevant agencies should work rapidly in this direction. His proposal is being viewed as a positive step toward improving urban mobility and reducing congestion in major cities.
