UP T20 League: Playoff venue shifted due to persistent rain and pitch conditions in Kanpur

The venue for the playoff matches of the fourth season of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League has undergone a significant change. According to reports from Amar Ujala, these matches will no longer take place at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

Organizers made this decision after considering the persistent rain in the region and the current state of the pitch. The uncertainty regarding the bounce on the surface led to concerns about player safety and the overall quality of the game, prompting the shift.

All matches for the playoff stage of the league will now be hosted at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. This adjustment marks a major change in the tournament schedule, ensuring that fans will now witness the high-stakes encounters in Lucknow.

Heavy rainfall in Kanpur had disrupted preparations at the original venue, forcing organizers to seek an alternative location. The Ekana Stadium was selected due to its modern infrastructure and superior drainage facilities, which are better suited for the current weather conditions.

There is significant excitement surrounding the fourth season of the UP T20 League. Organizers believe that the change in venue will help maintain the momentum of the tournament, allowing players to perform at their best in more favorable conditions.

An updated schedule for the remaining matches of the league is expected to be released officially soon. Cricket fans are eagerly anticipating these knockout matches, which are now set to take place in Lucknow.

This decision was taken to ensure the fairness of the tournament and to maintain a high standard of play. Organizers have requested cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure the smooth completion of the remainder of the tournament.
