The conference will bring together senior representatives from the central government, state governments, and various implementation agencies. The primary objective is to deliberate on the challenges and opportunities related to the development of highway infrastructure in the country.
The inaugural session will be addressed by the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, along with Ministers of State Ajay Tamta and Harsh Malhotra. State ministers for road transport and public works have also been invited to participate, aiming to strengthen center-state coordination and facilitate the exchange of ground-level experiences and best practices.
The two-day event will feature five key thematic sessions. These include PM Gati Shakti and integrated infrastructure planning, land acquisition, model concession agreements, design of safe highways, and quality assurance. These sessions are designed to identify innovative approaches to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of highway projects.
Discussions regarding land acquisition and the 'Bhoomi Rashi' portal will focus on measures to overcome obstacles in project execution. Meanwhile, the session on the design of safe highways will emphasize prioritizing road safety in planning and development. The quality assurance session aims to strengthen project monitoring and outcomes.
This Shivir is envisioned as a platform for result-oriented discussions. The goal is to develop actionable solutions that contribute to the creation of future-ready, safe, and high-quality highway infrastructure.
