School bus carrying 25 children catches fire in Lucknow; three injured and several faint

A school bus carrying 25 children caught fire in Lucknow, resulting in three children suffering burns and several others fainting from panic. Witnesses reported that the bus lacked an emergency exit, making the evacuation process extremely difficult. Following the incident, angry protesters targeted the RTO office to express their outrage over safety negligence.

A distressing incident occurred in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, when a school bus filled with children caught fire. According to reports from the Amar Ujala network, there were 25 children on board the vehicle when the blaze broke out, causing widespread panic in the area.

Witnesses at the scene stated that the fire originated near the bus door, which severely hampered efforts to evacuate the children. The situation was exacerbated by the absence of an emergency exit on the bus, making it extremely difficult to get the students to safety. Rescuers had to struggle to pull the children out through the same door where the fire was concentrated.

Three children sustained burn injuries in the incident and were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Additionally, several other children fainted due to the smoke and the intensity of the panic. The incident has sparked significant outrage among parents and local residents.

Angry protesters targeted the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to voice their frustration. The demonstrators alleged that safety standards for school buses are being ignored, putting the lives of children at risk.

The administration has ordered an investigation into the matter, given the severity of the situation. Authorities are looking into why the bus lacked essential safety equipment and why it was operating without an emergency exit despite holding a fitness certificate.

Police and fire department teams arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames. The injured children are currently receiving medical care, and their conditions are being monitored.

This incident raises serious questions regarding the safety protocols for school buses. Parents have demanded a rigorous inspection of all school transport vehicles to prevent such dangerous occurrences in the future.
