Lucknow: Private bus catches fire on Shaheed Path, 32 passengers have a narrow escape

A frightening incident occurred on Shaheed Path in Lucknow on Saturday night when a moving private sleeper bus caught fire. The bus was en route from Gorakhpur to Surat. According to the report by Amar Ujala, the incident took place around 12:15 AM while the bus was passing near Medanta Hospital.

There were 32 passengers on board the bus. Upon noticing smoke coming from the vehicle, the driver immediately pulled over to the side of the road. Panic ensued among the passengers, but thanks to the prompt action of the driver and conductor, everyone was evacuated safely in time.

The fire quickly intensified. Local residents and passersby immediately informed the police and the fire department. Fire tenders reached the spot and began efforts to control the blaze. However, by then, a significant portion of the bus had already been gutted by the fire.

There are no reports of any casualties among the passengers. Everyone is safe, although their luggage was destroyed in the fire. After the evacuation, efforts were made to arrange alternative transport for the passengers to reach their destination.

Traffic on Shaheed Path was affected for some time due to the incident. The police reached the scene to control the situation and initiated the process of removing the burnt vehicle from the road.

The exact cause of the fire has not been determined in the preliminary investigation. It is suspected that a short circuit may have caused the fire. The police are conducting a detailed investigation to ascertain the precise reasons behind the incident.
