The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, organized a special awareness session today at the 'Manan' conference hall in New Delhi. Titled 'Cleanliness to Civilization', the event was conducted in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris. This program was held under the framework of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026', which is being observed across the country from September 17 to October 2.

Sister Vidyarthi from the Brahma Kumaris served as the keynote speaker for the session. Addressing the officials and staff present, she highlighted the profound connection between inner values and external cleanliness. Explaining the principle of 'as the state of mind, so is the arrangement', she noted that an individual's mental state determines the order of their surroundings, whether at home or in the workplace.

Sister Vidyarthi inspired the participants by reiterating the message that 'cleanliness is godliness'. She urged them to adopt hygiene not merely as a task, but as a form of self-respect and civic duty. She placed special emphasis on a simple lifestyle, social sensitivity, and respect for nature. According to her, the purity of thoughts and speech forms the foundation for physical cleanliness.

Furthermore, Sister Vidyarthi identified recycling as an essential habit for better resource management. She stated that this is a practical step toward improving waste management. At the conclusion of the program, all officials and staff of the department reaffirmed their commitment to cleanliness in their workplaces and communities, pledging to maintain these standards consistently.
