Lawyers from 22 districts of Western UP to abstain from judicial work over High Court bench demand

Lawyers from 22 districts in Western Uttar Pradesh have decided to abstain from judicial work today to demand the establishment of a High Court bench. During a meeting held in Meerut, the lawyers also resolved to ban the entry of BJP representatives into the court premises. The advocates expressed their dissatisfaction with the Chief Minister's stance regarding the long-standing demand for the bench.

In a significant meeting held at the Nanakchand Auditorium in the Meerut court complex, lawyers from 22 districts of Western Uttar Pradesh have collectively reached a major decision. The advocates have announced that they will abstain from all judicial work today to press for their long-standing demand for the establishment of a High Court bench in the region.

During the meeting, the lawyers expressed their dissatisfaction with the state government, specifically targeting the Chief Minister. The advocates alleged that the government is not adopting the expected stance regarding the establishment of the High Court bench, which continues to cause difficulties for the people of the region in accessing justice.

As a form of protest, the lawyers have also decided to ban the entry of Bharatiya Janata Party representatives into the court premises. This decision has caused a stir in local political circles.

The lawyers stated that this demand, which has persisted for years, is being continuously ignored. Litigants from Western Uttar Pradesh are forced to travel long distances to reach the Allahabad High Court, which is both financially burdensome and time-consuming.

During the meeting, the lawyers warned that if positive steps are not taken regarding their demand soon, they will intensify their agitation. They have demanded immediate intervention from the government in this matter.

Due to this boycott, court operations are expected to be significantly affected today. Litigants arriving from distant areas may also face inconvenience due to this situation.

This unity among the advocates and their firm stance against the government is likely to trigger further political discussions in the coming days.

For now, the lawyers remain firm on their demands and have made it clear that their struggle will continue until concrete initiatives are taken toward the establishment of the bench.
