Teacher recruitment candidates protest at Basic Education Minister's residence in Aligarh, beg with bowls in hand

Candidates from the reserved category of the 2018 teacher recruitment drive held a protest at the residence of Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh in Aligarh. The protesters, including several differently-abled individuals, used bowls to beg as a symbolic gesture to highlight their grievances regarding pending appointments. The demonstration saw intense sloganeering as candidates demanded immediate attention to their long-standing recruitment issues.

A poignant and intense protest unfolded in Aligarh on Sunday as candidates from the 2018 teacher recruitment drive gathered outside the residence of State Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh. The protesters, belonging to the reserved category, voiced their frustration over long-pending recruitment issues that have left their careers in limbo for years.

To draw the government's attention to their plight, the candidates adopted a unique form of protest. Many of them held bowls in their hands, symbolically begging to highlight the economic and mental distress they have faced while waiting for their appointments. This visual demonstration drew significant attention from onlookers and local residents.

Differently-abled candidates played a prominent role in the demonstration. Despite their physical challenges, they sat outside the minister's home and raised slogans against the administration. They expressed deep disappointment, stating that their repeated pleas for justice have only been met with empty promises.

According to reports from Amar Ujala, the protesters staged a demonstration for several hours. Their primary demands center on the proper implementation of reservation policies within the recruitment process and the immediate clearance of pending appointments that have been stalled for years.

The candidates alleged that systemic errors and administrative delays in the recruitment process have forced them into a state of uncertainty. They emphasized that they would continue to fight until their grievances are addressed and their appointments are confirmed.

Security arrangements were tightened around the minister's residence to maintain order as the protest continued. Despite the presence of security personnel, the candidates remained firm in their resolve, continuing their sloganeering throughout the day.

While the protest eventually concluded, the candidates warned that this was only the beginning. They stated that if the government fails to provide a concrete solution to their problems, they would be forced to organize larger and more intense demonstrations in the future. As of now, there has been no official response from the education department regarding these demands.
