Swachhata Samvad Organized at ICAR-CIRB Hisar, Focus on Waste Management
ICAR-CIRB, Hisar, organized a 'Swachhata Samvad' as part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign. During the event, employees discussed waste management, reducing plastic usage, and collective responsibility toward cleanliness. Participants reiterated their commitment to maintaining a clean environment at their workplace and surrounding areas.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes (ICAR-CIRB), Hisar, organized a special 'Swachhata Samvad' (Cleanliness Dialogue) under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign. The primary objective of this initiative was to raise awareness about cleanliness and ensure active participation among the institute's contractual staff and young professionals.
The event was held as part of the eighth-day action plan of the cleanliness drive. Approximately 20 participants took part in the session. Instead of traditional lecture-based methods, the dialogue prioritized open discussion, allowing employees to share practical experiences regarding cleanliness at their homes and workplaces.
During the discussion, key topics such as preventing littering, responsible waste disposal, reducing plastic usage, and waste segregation were discussed in detail. Participants agreed that cleanliness is not just a cleaning task but a shared social responsibility.
It became clear from the dialogue that achieving the goal of a clean India is difficult without continuous behavioral changes and public participation. Participants suggested that small steps, such as segregating waste and reducing unnecessary plastic use, could play a major role in creating a healthy environment.
At the end of the program, all participants took a collective pledge to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and adopt sustainable habits. This initiative promoted the spirit of 'participation in cleanliness,' which is essential for building a clean and developed India.
Institute officials stated that such dialogues will continue in the future to develop cleanliness as a habit. The program not only highlights the importance of sanitation but also strengthens the sense of collective responsibility.
