Strengthening the digital foundation of the Ayush Grid, the Ministry of Ayush has adopted Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a key technology for Ayurveda and traditional medicine. The ministry is exploring the potential of AI across sectors including healthcare, research, education, and investment facilitation.

Several AI-based chatbots have been introduced. The MAISP chatbot provides information on Ayush, while the ARP Research Assistant helps researchers navigate literature. Furthermore, the e-LMS chatbot supports students, e-Charak assists in the medicinal plant trade, Yoga Sarthi offers yoga guidance, and Nivesh Sarthi provides investment-related support.

These efforts have received global recognition. A casebook prepared in partnership with the World Health Organization for the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026 features an AI-based decision support system for Ayurveda. This highlights the potential of generative AI and RAG technology in strengthening evidence-based Ayurvedic knowledge.

Through the IndiaAI Innovation Challenge, the ministry is developing solutions such as voice-based electronic health records and personalized treatment assistance. The ministry's approach aligns with a technical report on the responsible use of AI in traditional medicine, released on July 11, 2025, by the World Health Organization and other international bodies.

In collaboration with the Digital India Bhashini division, Ayush Grid portals are now accessible in 22 scheduled languages of India. This initiative has improved access for practitioners and students across the country's linguistic landscape. The ministry emphasizes that the goal is not to replace traditional knowledge with technology, but to make it more accessible, interconnected, and evidence-based for people worldwide.
