Lumpy Skin Disease outbreak hits 20 districts in Uttar Pradesh, high alert in areas bordering Haryana

Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) is spreading among livestock in Uttar Pradesh, affecting 20 districts across the state. The impact is particularly severe in districts sharing a border with Haryana. Animal husbandry department teams have been deployed to the affected regions to intensify rescue and treatment efforts, aiming to curb the spread of the viral infection among cattle.

The threat of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) has escalated among livestock in Uttar Pradesh. Cases of the disease have been reported in 20 districts, causing concern among cattle owners. Both health and animal husbandry departments are closely monitoring the situation.

According to reports from Amar Ujala, the outbreak of the lumpy virus is most severe in districts bordering Haryana. Special vigilance is being maintained in these areas to prevent the spread of the infection. The animal husbandry department has initiated containment measures in the affected districts.

To control the infection, strategies such as vaccination and isolation of infected animals are being implemented. Officials emphasize that identifying symptoms early and seeking timely treatment is the most effective way to manage the disease.

Departmental teams are visiting villages to conduct health checks on livestock. Owners are being advised to separate animals showing symptoms of LSD from healthy ones. Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on maintaining hygiene and spraying insecticides in the affected areas.

Awareness campaigns are also being conducted for cattle owners. They are being instructed to contact the nearest veterinary center immediately if their animals exhibit symptoms such as fever or skin nodules.

Taking the situation seriously, the state government has placed the Chief Veterinary Officers of all affected districts on high alert. Instructions have been issued to ensure the availability of medicines so that treatment is not hindered.

Currently, special surveillance teams have been deployed in districts bordering Haryana. The primary task of these teams is to identify new cases of infection and contain them before they can spread further.
