The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has taken a significant step to promote eco-friendly transportation. The council has decided to provide a 50 percent concession on parking fees for electric vehicles (EVs) within its jurisdiction. This decision aims to reduce pollution and encourage the adoption of green energy.

According to NDMC, this special discount will be applicable across 155 parking areas managed by the council. Electric vehicle owners will now pay significantly less for parking their vehicles compared to previous rates. This initiative is expected to boost the use of electric vehicles in the city.

To make the parking process simpler and more transparent, the council has integrated digital technology. Vehicle owners will now be able to book parking slots in advance through a mobile application. This will eliminate the hassle of searching for space upon reaching the parking site.

This new system will not only save time for vehicle owners but also help in managing congestion at parking sites. With the combination of digital booking and discounted rates, people are expected to be more motivated to adopt electric vehicles.

The council believes that such improvements will enhance urban traffic management. NDMC is working towards further modernizing its parking infrastructure in the near future.

This facility will soon be active across all designated parking areas. Electric vehicle owners are advised to use the relevant mobile app to avail of this new service.

NDMC's initiative is being viewed as a positive step in light of the growing popularity of electric vehicles in Delhi. It is expected to provide both economic benefits and contribute significantly to environmental conservation.
