Scheduled Caste Woman Entrepreneur Achieves Success in Rubber Recycling Using Waste-to-Wealth Model
Andhra Pradesh entrepreneur Smt. Swarnalatha Nethipudi has established a successful rubber recycling plant with the help of the Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes (VCF-SC). This enterprise contributes to environmental protection and economic development by converting waste tires into industrial raw materials.

Visakhapatnam-based Smt. Swarnalatha Nethipudi has presented an inspiring business example through innovation and institutional support. As a first-generation woman entrepreneur from the Scheduled Caste community, she founded 'Swarnakaruna Princeton Rubber Industries Private Limited.' Her journey reflects the positive impact of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment's 'Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes' (VCF-SC).
The company has set up an automated plant to convert waste tires into high-quality crumb rubber powder. It has an annual production capacity of approximately 6,000 metric tons. This project not only addresses the issue of tire disposal but also promotes a circular economy.
In 2023, the VCF-SC provided financial assistance of Rs 5 crore to this enterprise. This capital helped the company develop advanced infrastructure and secure additional financing from SIDBI. With this support, the company has achieved the capacity to recycle over two lakh waste tires.
Currently, the enterprise has provided direct employment to 15 people. The company has generated a revenue of Rs 4.36 crore and recorded a profit of Rs 4.60 crore to date. Partnerships with reputable companies like TVS Sundram and Hinkol have further strengthened its market position.
Smt. Swarnalatha Nethipudi stated that government support enabled her to turn an environmental challenge into a sustainable business opportunity. This success shows how targeted financial assistance can help Scheduled Caste entrepreneurs establish innovative and sustainable businesses in emerging sectors.
