MP Ramesh Awasthi seeks new roadmap from IIT to revive closed NTC and BIC mills in Kanpur

Kanpur MP Ramesh Awasthi met with the IIT director to discuss the potential reuse of assets belonging to closed or underutilized NTC and BIC industrial units. He has urged the institute to develop an effective action plan to revitalize these facilities. The initiative aims to restore the city's industrial legacy and ensure the productive utilization of land currently occupied by the defunct mills.

Kanpur MP Ramesh Awasthi has taken a significant step regarding the city's defunct industrial units. He recently met with the director of IIT Kanpur to hold a detailed discussion on the current status of mills under the National Textile Corporation (NTC) and the British India Corporation (BIC). The prolonged closure or limited operations of these mills have impacted the city's industrial landscape.

The MP has requested the IIT administration to prepare a new and practical roadmap for the revival of these assets. He believes that by leveraging the expertise of the technical institute, the land and resources of these closed mills can be put to better use. This effort is considered a crucial initiative to create new employment opportunities and accelerate industrial growth in the city.

During the meeting, the MP emphasized that given Kanpur's industrial history, the revival of these mills is essential. He urged the experts at IIT to formulate a plan that is not only economically viable but also beneficial for the city's future.

The collaboration with IIT Kanpur aims to give a new identity to these mill assets. The MP believes that if these resources are managed correctly, Kanpur can once again emerge as a major industrial hub.

Currently, a detailed action plan is expected to be prepared by IIT. The MP expressed confidence that with the help of technical experts, the path to reactivating these closed units will be paved.

This initiative is a positive sign for the local residents and the industrial sector of Kanpur. MP Ramesh Awasthi has been consistently striving for the city's development and the reopening of defunct units.

In the coming days, future strategies will be determined based on this roadmap. This coordination between the administration and the technical institute could prove to be a milestone in the industrial revival of Kanpur.
