Kanpur: SC Commission issues notice to KESCO MD over allegations of caste-based discrimination against employees

The Scheduled Castes Commission has issued a notice to the Managing Director of KESCO in Kanpur. Allegations have been raised that the MD is discriminating against employees from the Scheduled Caste category and providing administrative protection to the guilty staff members. The commission has sought a formal response regarding these claims.

The Scheduled Castes Commission has officially issued a notice to the Managing Director (MD) of Kanpur Electricity Supply Company (KESCO). This action follows serious allegations of caste-based discrimination leveled by employees belonging to the Scheduled Caste category within the department. The commission has taken these complaints seriously and requested a formal explanation.

Complainants allege that staff members from the Scheduled Caste community are facing discriminatory treatment in their workplace. The employees claim that they are not being treated with due respect or provided their rightful entitlements, which is negatively impacting the departmental environment.

Furthermore, the MD is accused of providing administrative protection to those staff members who are allegedly involved in these discriminatory incidents. The complaint suggests that instead of taking action against the guilty officials, they are being shielded by the administration.

Taking cognizance of these allegations, the Scheduled Castes Commission has sought a response from the KESCO administration. The commission aims to ensure that no form of caste-based discrimination occurs in government institutions and that all employees are provided with equal opportunities.

Currently, there has been no official response from the KESCO management regarding this notice. Given the gravity of the situation, all eyes are now on the commission's next course of action.

This matter has become a subject of discussion within administrative circles. Only after the commission's investigation will it become clear how much truth lies in these allegations and what further steps will be taken.

According to the report by Amar Ujala, this notice is being viewed as a significant step toward protecting the rights of the employees.
