Passengers troubled by poor condition of roadways buses in Kanpur, drivers and conductors protest

Employees protested over the poor condition of buses at Kanpur's Vikas Nagar depot. One bus has been in the workshop for a long time, while another bus sent to Delhi recently broke down midway, causing significant inconvenience to passengers.

The dilapidated condition of roadways buses at Kanpur's Vikas Nagar depot has increased difficulties for both passengers and staff. Angry over the frequent breakdowns of buses, drivers and conductors staged a massive protest at the depot premises. The employees allege that there is gross negligence in the maintenance of buses, the brunt of which is being borne by them and the passengers.

Protesting employees stated that the condition of the depot's buses is extremely pathetic. One bus has been standing in the workshop for the last month and a half, but no concrete steps have been taken to repair it. Due to this, the number of buses available at the depot has decreased, affecting the operation of buses on scheduled routes.

A major reason for the uproar was an incident that occurred on Tuesday. A bus was dispatched from Vikas Nagar depot to Delhi, but due to its poor condition, the bus broke down as soon as it reached Aligarh. Passengers on board faced immense trouble due to the bus breaking down in the middle of the journey. They had to struggle significantly to reach their destination.

Drivers and conductors say that they are unable to take out buses in such poor condition on the road. They warned that if the buses are not repaired on time, they will be forced to stage further protests. The employees have accused the depot administration of negligence and have demanded immediate improvements.

Passengers have also expressed their displeasure over this poor state of roadways. Regular commuters say that not getting buses on time and buses breaking down midway is affecting their essential work. They have appealed to the administration to improve the condition of the buses so that travel can be safe and smooth.

According to an Amar Ujala report, the depot management has not yet given any official response in this matter. However, a state of panic prevailed at the depot following the employees' protest.

Currently, questions are being raised about the functioning of the Vikas Nagar depot. Considering the safety and convenience of passengers, regular maintenance of buses has now become a major challenge.
