Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy leads Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, urges collective action

Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy recently participated in a cleanliness drive under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026' campaign. The event was held at Yashwant Palace Market in Chanakyapuri, Delhi, ahead of Gandhi Jayanti. The Secretary of the Ministry of Mines, Keshav Chandra, along with other senior officials from the ministry and NDMC, were also present.

During the event, the Minister interacted with sanitation workers. He commended their hard work and dedication in keeping public spaces clean. Mr. Reddy emphasized that maintaining cleanliness is not just the duty of the administration but a collective responsibility of every citizen.

Addressing the public, the Minister urged citizens to refrain from throwing waste in drains, public areas, roads, and water bodies. He stressed that littering from buildings or other locations is inappropriate. He highlighted that public participation and constant awareness are essential to ensure a clean environment.

The Minister expressed gratitude towards the sanitation staff who begin their work early in the morning to ensure a clean environment for citizens. He stated that their contributions deserve proper recognition and respect. He called for greater public involvement to make cleanliness an integral part of daily life.

To promote environmental responsibility, a tree plantation drive was also conducted under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative. This effort aimed to reinforce the message of creating a clean and green environment for the future.

In conclusion, the Union Minister thanked all officials, stakeholders, and sanitation workers for their participation in the initiative. He reiterated the commitment to building a clean and beautiful nation through collective action.
