Union Minister C. R. Paatil Reviews Water Resources Projects, Emphasizes Timely Completion

Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Paatil recently chaired a high-level review meeting of the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation. The primary objective of this session was to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current status of projects and initiatives being implemented by the department and its various associated organizations.
During the meeting, key bodies including the National Mission for Clean Ganga, the Central Water Commission, and the Central Ground Water Board presented detailed reports on their ongoing activities. The discussion focused on implementation challenges and measures to enhance the quality and effectiveness of these works.
The Minister emphasized that delays in projects not only lead to cost escalations but also deprive the public of timely benefits. He directed officials to identify all obstacles hindering the pace of work and ensure their swift resolution to guarantee timely completion.
Highlighting the importance of technological innovation, C. R. Paatil stated that the use of modern tools is essential in areas such as hydrological modernization, flood forecasting, and groundwater management. He suggested streamlining existing guidelines to make the preparation of Detailed Project Reports more efficient.
He identified cooperation between the Centre and the States as a key factor for success. The Minister noted that close coordination is necessary to resolve pending issues and ensure the smooth implementation of projects across the country.
Concluding the meeting, he issued clear instructions to senior officials to ensure effective follow-up on the decisions taken. He stressed that maintaining rigorous monitoring of implementation is vital to achieving the desired outcomes within the stipulated timeframes.
