Babar Azam struggles in domestic cricket, faces difficulty against short balls again
Star batsman Babar Azam returned to domestic cricket after a seven-year hiatus, raising high expectations among fans. However, he was dismissed cheaply. Following his struggles against English pacers, he is now facing similar challenges with short-pitched deliveries from domestic bowlers, raising concerns about his current form and technique.
The return of former Pakistan captain Babar Azam to domestic cricket has proven to be a disappointing experience. Fans had high hopes for the star batsman as he stepped onto the domestic field after a long gap of seven years, but he failed to make an impact. He was dismissed for a low score, heading back to the pavilion early.
Babar Azam's vulnerability against short-pitched deliveries has become clearly visible. Previously, English fast bowlers had troubled him significantly using bouncers. Now, domestic bowlers are employing the same strategy, causing Babar to struggle consistently at the crease.
Cricket experts believe that this technical flaw has become a major challenge for the batsman. The strategy initiated by English bowlers at the international level is now being replicated in domestic matches. His teammates are also testing him with bouncers, which has disrupted his batting rhythm.
This performance by Babar Azam is a matter of concern for his supporters. Despite returning to domestic cricket after a long time, he failed to settle at the crease. His failure has sparked discussions among team management and fans regarding whether he needs to adjust his technique.
In upcoming matches, the biggest challenge for Babar will be how he handles short-pitched deliveries. If he fails to overcome this weakness, opposing teams will continue to use this strategy against him. Currently, Babar is going through a very challenging phase.
