Chitrakoot: Villagers deprived of roads even after 78 years of independence, forced to carry patient in a sling
Basic amenities remain a distant dream in Tharpahad village of Chitrakoot district, Uttar Pradesh. Even 78 years after independence, the village lacks a paved road. According to a report by Amar Ujala, villagers were forced to carry a sick young man in a makeshift sling made of jute sacks to reach the hospital, exposing the negligence and apathy of the local administration.
VIMARSHNAARAD TVA heartbreaking incident in the Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh has exposed the reality behind claims of development. Residents of Tharpahad village, located within the municipal council area, continue to struggle for basic facilities. Even after more than seven decades of independence, there is no paved road to reach this village.
Recently, 28-year-old Gore Singh fell severely ill. He was suffering from persistent vomiting and diarrhea, which caused his condition to deteriorate rapidly. Due to the lack of a road, an ambulance or any other vehicle could not reach the village.
Compelled by the situation, the villagers had to resort to a makeshift arrangement. They tied Gore Singh in a jute sack and decided to carry him on their shoulders to reach the main road. This scene was not only painful but also highlights the gross negligence of the local administration.
Villagers state that they have repeatedly demanded a road from public representatives and officials, but each time they have received only empty assurances. Even today, they are forced to traverse difficult paths for their daily needs.
According to the Amar Ujala report, this incident has sparked significant anger among local residents. People allege that it is due to the administration's apathy that they are forced to carry their sick relatives in such a manner.
This situation persists despite the government's grand claims of building road networks in rural areas and improving healthcare facilities. The condition of Tharpahad village is sufficient to reveal the reality of those claims.
Local residents have demanded that the administration connect this village to the main road as soon as possible so that no one has to face such a situation in the future. Currently, there is no information regarding any concrete action taken by the administration on this matter.
