Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, welcomed new government recruits at the 20th Rozgar Mela held in Chennai. He described the occasion as a significant milestone for both the youth and their families. During this nationwide event, over 51,000 candidates received their appointment letters, bringing the total number of recruits under this initiative to approximately 12.75 lakh.

In his address, Dr. Pemmasani advised the new recruits to perform their duties with integrity, sensitivity, and a sense of responsibility. He noted that while a file might represent a routine administrative task for an official, it often holds great significance for the citizen involved. He urged the employees to avoid blindly following established procedures and instead focus on verifying facts and making judicious decisions.

Sharing his personal journey, the Minister encouraged the youth to remain adaptable and committed to continuous learning. He suggested that working in diverse cultural environments helps build confidence. He further urged them to leverage digital resources and AI tools to identify and solve the challenges faced by citizens.

Dr. Pemmasani highlighted the transformative changes in India since 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed out that mobile manufacturing units have grown from just two to nearly 300. Additionally, he noted the expansion of national highways, the rapid electrification of railways, and the improved connectivity provided by Vande Bharat trains.

Regarding the defense sector, the Minister mentioned that India's defense exports have surged from approximately 600 crore rupees in 2013-14 to nearly 30,000 crore rupees in 2025-26. He stated that this progress reflects India's growing self-reliance and industrial capability.

Providing guidance for the future, the Minister advised the recruits to always remember three things: the citizens, their families, and their own younger selves. He remarked that these principles would help them stay grounded and committed to the cause of public service.

Concluding his address, he urged the new recruits to constantly reflect on their contributions as the nation moves toward 2047. He extended his best wishes to all the recruits for their successful careers and their future service to the nation.
