Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized that educating mothers is essential for the early identification of disabilities in children. Speaking at the Prabuddh Matru Shakti Sammelan, he stated that proper awareness and prenatal care can significantly reduce complications and ensure better health outcomes for children.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh addressed the Prabuddh Matru Shakti Sammelan, highlighting that mothers play a pivotal role in preventing disabilities in children. He noted that mothers are often the first to notice developmental or health-related concerns in their children. By empowering them with the right knowledge, early detection and timely medical intervention can be achieved, which is vital for effective management.
Dr. Singh stressed that awareness during pregnancy, including regular check-ups, proper nutrition, and timely consultations with medical experts, is crucial. He explained that identifying potential issues early can lead to better health outcomes. This initiative is not only focused on prevention but also aims to ensure the comprehensive empowerment of persons with disabilities.
Highlighting government efforts over the last decade, the Minister mentioned the strengthening of support systems for the disabled. He cited the establishment of India's first high-tech sports training center in Madhya Pradesh, which contributed to India's record-breaking performance at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Additionally, cross-disability early treatment centers are being set up across the country to provide immediate assistance.
Regarding support for government employees, Dr. Singh noted that provisions such as exemption from rotational transfers, education allowances, and two years of paid child care leave are available for those raising children with special needs. These measures are designed to provide a robust support system for families throughout the child's development.
Appreciating the efforts of the organization SAKSHAM, the Minister emphasized the importance of taking awareness to the community level. He reiterated the government's vision to ensure that every mother is informed and no child is left behind. The event was also attended by local MLA Rajiv Jasrotia and representatives from SAKSHAM.
