NEET UG 2026: Delhi HC directs NTA to release results of two witness candidates within 24 hours
The Delhi High Court has ordered the National Testing Agency (NTA) to declare the NEET UG 2026 results for two candidates within 24 hours. The court clarified that these students are witnesses, not accused, in the CBI chargesheet. Additionally, the court has permitted them to participate in the counseling process.
VIMARSHNAARAD TVIn a significant development regarding the NEET UG 2026 examination, the Delhi High Court has directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to release the results of two specific candidates. The court has mandated that the agency must declare these results within a 24-hour window, providing relief to students whose scores were previously withheld.
During the court proceedings, it was established that the two candidates in question were not named as accused in the CBI chargesheet. Instead, the investigative agency has identified them solely as witnesses. Taking this crucial detail into account, the court questioned the NTA's decision to withhold their results and ordered their immediate release.
Beyond the directive to publish the results, the court has also granted these students permission to participate in the ongoing counseling process. This ruling clears the path for the students to pursue their academic goals, which had been stalled due to the uncertainty surrounding their examination status.
It is worth noting that the NEET UG examination has faced various legal challenges in recent times. In several instances involving CBI investigations, the court has had to intervene to ensure that the actions taken by the NTA do not unfairly impact the students involved. In this specific case, the court ensured that the future of the students was protected.
The court's stance serves as a positive development for all candidates who were being unnecessarily affected during the investigative process. The NTA is now required to provide the scorecards to these students within the stipulated timeframe set by the judiciary.
Following this order, the affected students will now be able to present their candidacy for the subsequent rounds of counseling. This decision brings relief not only to the students but also sends a message to examination conducting bodies to exercise greater caution in their administrative actions.
Currently, the NTA is expected to initiate the compliance process for this court order. The students and their families have welcomed the swift decision, which has effectively removed the obstacles hindering their academic progress.
