Hemlata Dilip Kharatmal, a resident of Kalwa in Thane, Maharashtra, has demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. Following the death of her husband, she was left with the sole responsibility of raising her two children. Despite the difficult circumstances, she remained determined to secure their future and become the pillar of support for her family.
Through a local social worker, Hemlata learned about the term loan scheme offered by the National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation. She applied for financial assistance through the Lidcom office and was granted a loan of 3.75 lakh rupees on November 25, 2024. She utilized these funds to establish a fish-selling business on Pokhran Road in Thane.
Through consistent hard work and dedication, Hemlata has turned this venture into a reliable source of income. Her net monthly earnings have grown to approximately 40,000 to 50,000 rupees. This income has enabled her to meet her family's needs, support her children's education, and significantly improve their standard of living.
Expressing her satisfaction with the financial support received, Hemlata stated that the assistance provided her with the opportunity to stand on her own feet. She noted that through her hard work, she has successfully built a stable livelihood and now looks toward her children's future with confidence.
