Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation Begins Preparations for Special Campaign 6.0
The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti has outlined its Special Campaign 6.0. Running from October 2 to October 31, 2026, the initiative focuses on office cleanliness and the timely disposal of pending matters. The department has already resolved thousands of public grievances and parliamentary references. This year, special emphasis will also be placed on the scientific management of e-waste.
VIMARSHNAARAD TVThe Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, has commenced preparations for Special Campaign 6.0. Following the guidelines of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), this campaign will be conducted across the department from October 2 to October 31, 2026. Its primary objective is to promote cleanliness in government offices and ensure the swift disposal of pending administrative matters.
Building on the success of previous special campaigns, the department has resolved to make its operations even more effective. Between November 2025 and August 2026, the department achieved several significant milestones. During this period, 67 references received from Members of Parliament, 21 parliamentary assurances, and 13 references from state governments were successfully resolved.
The department has also made notable progress in addressing public grievances. According to the data, 10,378 public grievances and 2,346 public grievance appeals were resolved during this period. Furthermore, 11 Prime Minister's Office (PMO) references and 3 cabinet proposals were also addressed in a time-bound manner. All these activities are being monitored through the DARPG portal.
A key feature of Special Campaign 6.0 is the scientific management of e-waste. The department has decided to strictly adhere to established rules for the effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste. This will not only improve space management in offices but also promote environmentally friendly workplace practices.
The department believes that this campaign will help make cleanliness an essential part of daily office operations. By prioritizing transparency and efficiency, the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation is reiterating its commitment to citizen-centric governance.
