VIMARSHNAARAD TVPrime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 53rd meeting of PRAGATI, a platform dedicated to proactive governance and timely project implementation. During the session, six major infrastructure projects in the railway, road, and energy sectors were reviewed. These projects, spread across nine states, involve a total investment exceeding Rs 30,000 crore.
Expressing concern over delays in project implementation, the Prime Minister noted that such setbacks not only escalate costs but also deprive citizens and the economy of timely benefits. He directed officials to view infrastructure projects as integrated units rather than fragmented packages. He urged ministries and state governments to adopt an end-to-end approach to project completion.
Emphasizing the importance of quality, the Prime Minister stated that speed should not come at the cost of standards. He instructed the use of modern technologies and rigorous monitoring at every stage of development. He also suggested exploring the feasibility of 'common utility corridors' during the planning phase of large transport infrastructure projects.
Reviewing the 'AgriStack' under the Digital Agriculture Mission, the Prime Minister stressed the need to leverage innovative technologies like AI for the effective use of agricultural data. He noted that data should be utilized across the entire agricultural value chain, from input planning to processing, to ensure better outcomes for farmers.
The meeting also addressed the rising cases of cyber fraud, including incidents of 'digital arrest'. The Prime Minister stated that preventing such crimes requires a continuous focus on training, public awareness, and cybersecurity education. He specifically directed the launch of awareness campaigns targeting the youth, the elderly, and vulnerable sections of society.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the need for regular training for personnel involved in cybersecurity to identify new methods of fraud and ensure swift action. He called for stronger coordination between central and state government agencies to tackle these threats effectively.
Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister urged all concerned ministries and states to take greater responsibility at every stage of project implementation and to foster a culture of proactive governance.
