FSDA bans 'Classic Pure' water in Bareilly, suspends food license over safety concerns
The FSDA has banned the sale of 'Classic Pure' water in Bareilly after laboratory tests revealed the presence of coliform bacteria, yeast, and mold. Additionally, the levels of TDS, calcium, and magnesium failed to meet safety standards. Consequently, the department has suspended the company's food license to protect public health.
VIMARSHNAARAD TVIn a significant move, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, has prohibited the sale of 'Classic Pure' brand water. The department has also suspended the company's food license following laboratory tests that deemed the product unsafe for human consumption.
According to reports from Amar Ujala, the water samples tested positive for coliform bacteria. Furthermore, the presence of yeast and mold was detected in the samples. These contaminants pose serious health risks, prompting the authorities to take immediate action against the manufacturer.
Beyond biological contamination, the chemical composition of the water was also found to be non-compliant with safety regulations. The report indicates that the levels of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), calcium, and magnesium did not meet the prescribed standards necessary for ensuring water purity.
FSDA officials emphasized that products failing to meet safety criteria will not be permitted in the market. Due to these violations, the department has taken strict measures. With the license suspended, the company is prohibited from selling its products until it complies with all safety requirements.
Authorities have instructed local retailers and distributors to remove the brand's stock from their shelves immediately. Consumers have been advised to avoid using this brand of water to ensure their health and safety.
This action reflects the administration's vigilance regarding public health. The FSDA continues to monitor the quality of food and beverages in the market to curb the distribution of adulterated or unsafe products.
Legal proceedings regarding this matter are currently underway. The administration has indicated that similar strict actions will be taken against any other brands found violating safety standards in the future.
